Formula Sports announcement hits the spot

Formula Sports Australia, major sponsor of the Darts Federation of Australia walked into the 30th Australian Darts Championships and asked DFA President Kelvin James if there had ever been any monitory rewards on the Australian Darts Championships Singles event. The DFA President advised that the best of his knowledge there had never been any money involved with the Australian Singles title.

Next day Mr. Phil Jackson, Director of Formula Sports Australia returned to the Championships. He offered $1000.00 each to the Australian Men's and Ladies Singles Champions for 2009. When Mr. James announced the sponsorship from Formula at the start of play prior to the Australian Pairs, the players received the announcement with excitement. Players were heard saying, "That will give us even more incentive to win". (Above DFA President Kelvin James and Formula Sports Phil Jackson)

Mr. Jackson said, "Formula Sports is delighted to be able to extend our involvement with the Australian Darts Championships by contributing a $1,000 prize to each of the ladies and men's winners in the singles finals on Friday. This small token of our appreciation marks our gratitude to the DFA and the individual states to the support and encouragement they are extending to Formula Sports and the ongoing closer ties we are creating."
He went on say, "As the finals coincide with the development and manufacture of our second generation Micro Band dartboard, we will be proud to include the images of each of the 2009 ladies and men's champions on the new display box for the dartboard."
"We recognize the value of the opportunity to meet and talk with the players during the week and we really appreciate the constructive help and advice the players are giving us in the further development of our products."
