DFA Secretary’s Message 2009
Welcome to Brisbane and the 2009 Formula 30th Australian Darts
Championship. What a wonderful place to celebrate 30 years of Australian
Championships.
All players and officials should take a bow for making the Australian
Championships what it is today. It is through the efforts of your Councils and
your dedication to the sport allows players to compete at the national level in
the Australian Darts Championships.
There are those who will remember the 1st Championships with fond memories
and will be able to relay many stories that we, the new ones, can only imagine
what it was like back then. The playing venues, the facilities, the distances teams traveled on non
direct flights, the accommodation, different uniforms that states have worn over the years and of
course, the many winners.
Congratulations to Queensland as the host state and we wish them every success. I’m sure we will all
enjoy our stay and the hospitality extended to us by the Queensland Darts Association’s committee
and all its members.
I wish all players the best for the Championships. Good darts and hope you achieve the
personal goals that you have set yourself this year. Also thank you to all the
volunteers who have given their time to help make these championships successful.
