Australian Grand Masters
Opening
The 27th Australian Grand Masters was opened by Andrew Little, the ACT Darts Council Inc.'s President, who welcomed everyone and thanked there sponsors, The Labour Club, Carlton Breweries, Formula, Aristocrat and Coke-Cola.
He then invited the Labour Club's President of the Board Brian Hatch to address those attending and throw the darts that would open the games. He threw fair darts and declared free Carlton products on tap, over the bar for the duration of the bull shoot out. This was greeted with great applause.
Bull Shootout
The first event for the weekend was the bull shootout. Everyone lined up on two boards to see who could get the most bulls in succession. If unsuccessful it was to the back of the queue to try again, this was the procedure for half an hour. Graeme Longmuir was officiating counting the bulls thrown by the players. To start various players got 2 and 3 bulls, but in the end it was Kyle Anderson who won the shoot by hitting 11 bulls - and if that wasn't enough, he backed it up with 
another 11. A notable performance was thrown by Victorian John Tuhi (a junior) with 8. Others to get a reasonable set going were Jason Murdoch and Rob Modra with seven. The $1000.00 cheque was heading back west to Perth with Kyle Anderson.
Blind Draw Pairs
52 players placed their names on the list for the Blind Draw Pairs. All were chasing the winner's cheque of $500.00 to get a great start to their weekend and to find some early form on the boards. As many were coming from a long way away from Canberra it was a chance for old acquaintances to say hello and have a drink, and who knows who would draw a top seed as their partner, this of course is the aspiration of B and C grade players. The players were spread across 8 boards.

Kyle Anderson & Raymond O'Donnell defeated Barry Jouannet & Wayne Weening 3 - 2
Andrew Townes & Eddy Sims defeated Metarini Reid & Amanda Fish 3 - 1
The Semi Final results were:
Ian Wise & Jamie Brown defeated Kim McLean & Phillip Bottreu 4 - 3
Kyle Anderson & Raymond O'Donnell defeated Andrew Townes & Eddy Sims 4 - 1
The Final result was:
