Tony Fleet and Carol Forwood are off to the Winmau World Masters in September after they topped the DFA Grand Prix in its inaugural year following their respective wins in the 2009 Pacific Masters in Queensland recently.
From Canberra in the ACT, Tony, (pictured below) with three victories Anthony Fleetfrom four events this year earned 61 points and $5600 in Prize money plus an airfare to the U.K. Victoria's Eddy Sims won the other event and collected 20 points and $1,000 for his efforts at the Victorian Easter Open.

Carol ForwoodCarol (pictured left) dominated the ladies table with four victories from four events and almost $4000 in prize money plus an airfare to the U.K. to compete in the Winmau World Masters in Bridlington.
In second place was Corinne Hammond of New South Wales.
DFA President Kelvin James (below) congratulates both Tony & Carol on their achievements and wishes both players the very best of success for the Winmau World Masters in September.

The DFA has also announced that due to the continuous movement of the Winmau World Masters dates which is affected by television coverage of the BBC that the DFA Grand Prix will conclude each year at the Pacific Masters.

This gives all players an equal chance to compete in all of the Grand Prix events without the conclusion being affected by the window of date changes which are required to fulfil the broadcaster's schedule.

The DFA Grand Prix will commence for the 2010-year with the Australian Masters Weekend in Geelong in October and conclude in Gosford in 2010 at the Pacific Masters.
"Our player will therefore have stability and consistency and can plan their travel arrangements well in advance to attend the Grand Prix Events thus minimising travel costs".
