Day Two - Martin “The Assassin” Atkins produced a giant-killing display in the all-Yorkshire clash to gun down former world champ John Walton 3-1.

It took Leeds-based Atkins 44-minutes to bid seventh seed John Boy “good night”

Day Eight - New kid on the block Christian Kist staked his claim for the world championship, burying former double champ Ted “The Count” Hankey in a thrilling two hour encounter 6-5.

Tony O’Shea justified his 13/8 favourite’s tag, scrambling through a tense 11-set clash to win through to the final, shocking Dutch electrician Wesley Harms into a 6-5 submission.

Global television coverage of the 2012 Darts Games

BBC ESPNBBC and ESPN will be screening over 60 hours of live and recorded coverage of the 2012 Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships from Saturday 7 January to Sunday 15 January.

This includes live darts on the first weekend from both BBC (starting with defending Champion Martin Adams v Scott Mitchell on BBC One at 2.30PM on Saturday 7 January) and ESPN opening up with two hours of live darts on the evening of 7 January.

Coral Latest Betting Odds

Coral, the official on-site bookmakers for the Lakeside World Championships, report that Dean Winstanley has attracted by far the most number of bets, and the most money in the run up tp Lakeside.

His odds have been cut from 8/1 to 5/1, while Ted Hankey and Martin Phillips have been steadily supported.

BBC and ESPN COLLABORATE FOR COMPLETE COVERAGE OF THE 2012 LAKESIDE WORLD PROFESSIONAL DARTS CHAMPIONSHIPS

The BDO and BBC Sport have reached an agreement with ESPN to provide live coverage of the 2012 Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships.

ESPN will broadcast both evening sessions of the opening weekend of January 7th and 8th, plus every weekday evening session from January 9th to 13th live and exclusively.
