Global television coverage of the 2012 Darts Games
BBC ESPNBBC and ESPN will be screening over 60 hours of live and recorded coverage of the 2012 Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships from Saturday 7 January to Sunday 15 January.
This includes live darts on the first weekend from both BBC (starting with defending Champion Martin Adams v Scott Mitchell on BBC One at 2.30PM on Saturday 7 January) and ESPN opening up with two hours of live darts on the evening of 7 January.
Sunday 8 January will also have live Lakeside darts on BBC (afternoon) and ESPN (evening). Monday to Friday coverage then continues with extended highlight on BBC (afternoon and evening) and live darts for three-and-a-half hours each weekday evening on ESPN.
The live Semi-Finals on Saturday 14 January will be shared by both broadcasters: BBC will show the first Semi-Final live from 14.30 to 16.30 hours, with ESPN screening the second Semi-Final live from 17.00 to 20.00 hours.
To celebrate the 35th consecutive year of the World Professional Darts Championships on BBC, there will be exclusive live coverage on BBC Two of the 2012 Lakeside Final on Sunday 15 January from 17.45 to 20.00. ESPN will be screening highlights from the 2012 Final from 22.30 to 00.00.
In addition, Lakeside 2012 coverage on Europsort and Eurosport Asia will be available in 99 countries around the globe – completing a TV package that is likely to produce the largest audience for darts in the world.
