The Darts Federation of Australia (DFA) has the responsibility to provide opportunities for all Australian's to participate in and to encourage people to become involved in the sport of darts.

DARTS - The sport that starts and ends with a handshake

Darts is an international sport played by millions. There is approximately 45,000 registered and several hundred thousand social players in Australia playing the sport. One of the most attractive features of the game of darts is that people of different ages and sexes can compete against each other on equal terms. You don't need to possess any particular skill, strength or endurance to play darts. Basic skills can be learnt by children and novices with the 'game' itself providing a lifelong challenge, source of enjoyment and friendship, and is very inexpensive compared with other sports.

For about thirty dollars ($30) you can buy as good a set of darts that will last you for years. Darts is one of the most sociable games, which can be played by the whole family. Even if one does not become a "skilled" player, there is still a great deal of enjoyment to be derived from the game.

The Darts Federation of Australia (DFA) in 1989 developed and introduced the first National Coaching Course for the sport of darts in the World. The DFA has accredited Level 0, Level 1 and Level 2 Coaches throughout Australia. In 1992 States and Territory's appointed a Coaching Director's whose role is to oversee the coaches development and their continuing education.

DFA qualified coaches are available to interested players.
