Stance at the Oche (Fig. 2)
The position favoured by most of the Champions is probably the most simple:
Place the toe of the right foot up hard against the oche, left foot approx.
30 / 45 cms to the rear with the sole of the foot only, on the floor for support.
In this position simply transfer your body weight forward towards the dartboard, and onto thewrite foot.

Stance
Naturally the opposite applies if you are left-handed.

Body Position (Fig. 3)

Now, having adopted the position mentioned above, check to make sure your body is in a normal upright position, not twisted either at the legs or the waste. The body would normally be at the angle of about 45 degrees from the straight.

Shoulder Position (Fig. 3)

With the arm extended towards the dartboard, the shoulder should be as near as possible, under the right eye. Make sure your shoulder is not pulled in, over emphasising, or this will cause you to twist your body out of line.

Flexible Wrist (Fig. 5)

Most learners make the mistake of holding the wrist as firm as they possibly can. The wrist should be flexible and move backwards and forwards as an extension of the arm in the throwing motion. Much like the arm movement when cracking a whip. Practice this movement will develop power in the throw and help maintain rhythm
