Would you want these numbers at your Open?

The Netherlands Darts Federation are preparing for the Dutch Open which is being played at the Hotel de Koninghof in Veldhoven, not far from Eindhoven, the same venue they used last year. It is being played from the 6th - 9th of February. It holds all the ranking points - World Darts Federation Ranked, British Darts Organisation Points, European Grand Prix Ranked, & World Trophy Invitation Points
The tournament is played over four days, starting on Thursday with only the last 8 singles or 4 pairs to be played on stage on the Sunday.

What follows are some interesting facts on the tournament for 2003.
Nominations CLOSED on the 21st of December 2002
They have 150 dartboards set up, and 52 match Officials to run the event.

They will require all of those Officials as they have over 5100 participants that will play over the 4 days.

They have obtained the following entries:

196 Women pairs (starts on the Thursday)

1156 Men pairs (starts on the Thursday)

519 Women singles (starts on the Friday)

3264 Men singles (starts on the Friday)

I'm sure we would like the numbers attending as it would make for an amazing event, but ………….

The whole playing area is closed for drinks and cigarettes.

Officials will stop players who enter the playing area with a drink or a cigarette. If a player ignores this they will get an official warning, after the second warning the player will be taken out of the tournament WITHOUT RESPECT OF PERSONS.

It costs you to get in: ADMISSION TICKETS: ONLY available at the entrance of the venue.
Ticket price Thursday   €2,00
Friday   €2,50
Saturday   €3,50
Sunday   €4,50

Prizemoney Dutch Open 2003 - Over  €22,000

Best of luck to Helen Hofland, Tournament Director on running
this event.
Look back here in a few weeks time to see who won.
