Juniors Opening Ceremony 2004The Australian Junior Darts Championships got underway on Sunday the 11th of January with the Mini Olympics organised by Wendy Sinclair with events for the Players, Captain’s and Manager’s.

Some players ran, some walked but all participated.

In the Men’s Managers race George Barklem in the backward walk took a dive over the line nearly knocking down the winner, Bill Spence of the Northern Territory.

Betty Hislop who was in the Men’s Manager’s race came second.

On Ya Betty.

A BBQ was held as a Welcome Function where everyone got together and had a great time.

Opening Ceremony 2004 JuniorsThe Opening Ceremony commenced with the flag bearers displaying their State and Territory flags with the DFA Flag being presented by 2003 World Junior Darts Champions Kathleen Logue and Kyle Anderson.

A short speech followed by Geraldine Hutchinson (Tournament Controller) and Barry Duncan – DFA Vice President.

The first darts for the Championships were thrown by Neil Jordan, (right) Manager of the Altona Sports Club, venue for the Championships. And the Championships were off and running.
