Title holders in big trouble
It may be hot outside (43 degrees) but the darts competition inside was just as hot. Day one of the Australian Junior Darts Teams Event sees the defending title holders in big trouble. In the Girl's competition title holders New South Wales lost their first two matches to nearly put them out of contention real early. The same story in the Boy's competition as the Queenslander's lost two of their first three rounds to virtually put them out of the title race.
At this stage, after three rounds it appears that the titles may be going West as both their Boy's and Girl's Teams have not lost a game. (Look at the results tables to see how the competition looks)
In the Girl's, South Australia and Queensland are still in with a chance but needs either Tasmania or Victoria to defeat Western Australia. SA and Queensland could be fighting for second place in the last round of competition tomorrow. Western Australia is pretty hot favourites to win the title back they last won in 2000.
In the Boy's after five rounds again Western Australia are in the dominate position. Tomorrow morning will be their crunch game. South Australia and Western Australia clash. If South Australia wins they will be on level ground with WA as South Australia has only lost one match. If they lose they are back in the ruck with Queensland and New South Wales fighting for second spot.
Competition continues tomorrow at the Central District Football Club in Adelaide starting at 9.00am with the final rounds of the team's event followed by the Mixed Doubles.
