Congratulation to all of the Players and Officials on your selection in your State/Territory team to compete in these championships. Some of you will have been here before and for some it will be their first time. To the player's competing in their first Championship, good luck and good darting for this Championship and future Championships if they eventuate for you. To those having their last Championships because of age, we all thank you for your past efforts representing your State and hope you all go on from juniors and become the future elite players of our sport.
Several players are back to defend titles they won last year at Grand Central in Adelaide. Rebecca Webster won the Australian Junior Girl's Singles and Australian Youth Masters titles went on to represent Australia and win medals at the World Cup in the USA returns. Australia's other representative at the World Cup Harlee Chauntler also returns for his forth Championships. 2009 Australian Boy's Youth Masters winner and while a "Rookie Player" last year Jacob Loch from South Australia is back. All will be seeking to retain their titles in 2010. Harlee Chauntler and Elle Ward, although not partnering each other this year are back to try and win a second Mixed Pairs title; Rebecca Webster and Elle Ward will be defending their Girl's Pairs title as in the Boy's Double Guy Holland and Luke Sipple want to retain their titles. Western Australia won both the Boy's and Girl's Teams events at the last Championships but that was not enough to win the Champion State race. Queensland won that battle. In 2010 there are new battle lines being drawn up making the 29th Australian Junior Darts Championships one of the most evenness-contested events ever.May we at the DFA Website take this opportunity to wish every player the very best of luck and skill. Above all, let sportsmanship prevail and this wonderful sport of ours will grow. Enjoy.
