Mixed Pairs Darts title goes west in 2010Players were competing for the Australian Junior Mixed Doubles Championship at an action packed 29th Formula Australian Junior Darts Championships at the Inala Darts Club in Brisbane resulting in new Champions. At the completion of day two Australia had new Mixed Doubles Champions coming from Western Australia.
The first semi final saw Western Australian's Conan Ugle and Jucinta Dann take on Queensland's Leslie Blair and Rebecca Webster (right) over the best of 5 legs. All players were evenly matched and the Queensland pair was away first. Jucinta Dann was on fire in this leg hitting the triple 20 consistently and set up her partner to hit tops which he did with his first dart to give them the start they wanted.
Leg two and it was the Western Australian pair that jump out to an early lead. They were down to the double first but wasted three darts trying to finish the leg. This gave the Queenslanders a chance at stealing the leg but they were still too far behind giving the WA pairing a second chance to claim the leg which Conan Ugle did by hitting double 6. Blair and Webster were in trouble. They had to win the third leg or they would be eliminated from the event. They were away first but Dann and Ugle were putting in the big scores of 100+ and were down to the double after 15 darts. They wasted several attempts at finishing the leg, however they were still well ahead of the Queenslanders. Conan Ugle lined up double 10 and finished off the leg for his third pegout in this semi final to advance the Western Australians to the final.1st Semi Final Results

The second semi final saw New South Wales players Luke Sipple and Amy Clegg take on a Western Australian pairing in Blake Hatchett and Krissy Smith (right). Sipple and Clegg were away first and they were chased all the way down to the double by Hatchett and Smith. Clegg, Hatchett and Smith all had a chance to win the leg but could not. Sipple had his first chance and managed to finish from 43 to claim leg one. Sipple started the second leg with back-to-back 140's to give them a great start to the leg. Hatchett was throwing brilliantly for WA as well with three scores of 100 or more in a row to keep them in touch. Clegg missed a chance to take the leg from 48 leaving 18. Sipple hit double 9 with his first dart to give them a 2 - 0 lead. The third leg again saw NSW put the pressure on. The Hatchett Smith combination was starting to falter and could not keep up with the scoring power of Clegg and Sipple. Sipple hit the winning double for his third pegout for the semi final, this time finishing from 4

To the final and both pairs had come off a good confidence gaining semi final win and both wanted to win the title. The Western Australian's were away first. The scoring during the first leg was evenly matched between the two combinations. That lead off by WA was the difference in this leg with Ugle finishing on double 16. Leg two and the big scores were being hit. A 140 followed by 100 by Ugle and good support coming from Dann put the WA pair in front heading for the double. Dann missed a 60 finish wiring double ten with her third dart. NSW set up for the double on their next throw but it was too late as Ugle again finished the
leg off with his second dart. Sipple and Clegg (above) needed the next leg and they were away first. They started strongly with some steady darts. Ugle was off his throw for three walks but Jucinta Dann made up for him hitting three scores of 100 in a row to give them the advantage. Dann and Ugle (right) needed several darts but double 2 was enough hit by Dann to give them the leg and the final and the title.
