

Youth Masters shine in Queensland
The 29th Australian Junior Darts Champions at the Inala Darts Club in Brisbane concluded today with the Australian Youth Masters and Mystery Mixed Doubles being played. The results from the Australian Youth Masters saw a new Champion in both the Boy's and Girl's Masters.
The Australian Youth Masters commenced in 1992 and pits the best boy's player and girl's player from each state against each other in a round robin competition.

She may only be 16, but she's quite a talent. In the Girl's Youth Masters, Western Australia's Jucinta Dann won her first crown as the top junior girl's player by winning the title for the first time.
This is Jucinta Dann's (left) 3rd year representing Western Australia and continues to make a big impression on these Championships. From Perth she had a great event in her second Youth Masters, winning all of her round robin matches. It appeared pretty easy going for her, losing just one leg of darts for the whole competition to Rebecca Webster. She finished with an overall average 22.028.
Today's effort topped off a great week for Jucinta Dann. She has won or been involved in winning the Girl's Doubles, Girl's Teams, Girl's Doubles Mixed Doubles and now the Masters.
Rebecca Webster, the 16 year old from Queensland completed this Australian Junior Darts Championship with a second place in the Australian Youth Masters. From Wynnum just out of Brisbane she has also had a very good week. She lost just the one match to Dann 3 - 1. She completed the competition with a final average of 18.790. She was the defending Youth Masters Champion but could not match her back-to-back performance she achieved in the singles event.Place, Average & Wins

Conan Ugle (below) from the Western Australian country town of Collie won his first Australian Youth Masters at his first attempt in Brisbane. This young talented player has taken every opportunity at his first and only Australian Junior Championships he will be eligible to play in. He did not get through the event unscathed, losing one match in a very tight contest to Tasmanian Nathan Seabourne 3 - 2. The 17 year old completed the event with an overall average of 21.693. It topped off a great week for him having won the Teams and a finalist is several other events.
Nathan Seabourne of Devonport finished off his third Australian Darts Championships with a second place with 4 wins and 16 legs in the Youth Masters. The 17 year old lost one match to Queensland's Robbie King and one match to Victoria's Matthew Francois and finished off with an overall average of 22.453. He only gained second placing after he won a tiebreaker against Queensland Gold Coast player Robbie King who also finished the event with 4 wins. He finished in third place with an average of 21.630.

Host Drawn Mixed Doubles
This tournament is open to all players of the current year's Junior Representative Teams except those players selected to compete in the Australian Youth Masters. Performances in the Australian "Host Drawn" Mixed Doubles do not count towards the Australian Junior Championship Champion State.
Players are divided into four pools and play a round robin preliminary series, within each pool. No player may be drawn to pair with a player from the same State, unless, it is a fill-in player from the host State.
This is a fun event for everyone involved and after the Pools rounds were completed the top two pairs from each pool make up the quarter finalists.
