LEGENDS VICTORIA
LORNA WITT MEMORIAL TROPHY
Victorian Legends this weekend paid there respects to a wonderful lady and a good sport.
The Victorian Legends Inaugural Memorial Lorna Witt Drawn Mixed Doubles Trophy was held this weekend at The Brunswick Club, Lorna's home turf. A terrific turnout saw 22 doubles partners try there hardest to win. There was one obstacle to overcome, which in true Lorna Witt fashion we did. More men than ladies attended so some of the guy's were gal's for the weekend. In a fitting end though our President Sheryl Rockall and her partner Stewart Burdett won. Stewart (Stewie) was especially proud to get his name on the Trophy as Lorna had partnered him in his first ever State Reserve Challenge in 1984 in Mt Gambier.
Coming in as Runner's up were Larry Johnson (Loretta for the weekend) and Terry Pearce a new Victorian
Legends Member.
On Saturday Lorna's oldest daughter Liz attended but was replaced on Sunday by her youngest daughter Robyn and grand daughter Mahalia. Liz's daughter had been involved in a car accident on the Saturday night , thankfully not being hurt to much so Liz returned home understandably.
Robyn presented the Trophy and Medal's to the winner's and Runner's up and thanked Legends for remembering and honouring her Mum. Vic Legends Committee thanks everyone concerned for a memorable weekend.
Lorna is sadly missed by us all.
