Men’s Teams

The Men’s Teams event saw Australia play Finland. It was a thrilling final with many twist and turns.

Australia represented by Tony David, Anthony Fleet, Simon Whitlock and Graham Hunt started strongly winning the first two legs.

Finland players Ulf Ceder, Jarkko Komula, Marko Pusa and Kim Viljanen came back to win the next two legs to tie up the final.

David won the fifth leg for Australia to take the lead again, but Finland equalised and proceeded to win the next two legs to take a 5 – 2 lead.

The next six legs went with the darts to see Finland requiring one more leg for the Championship. Australia was not giving up though, and Anthony Fleet achieved the vital break back Australia was looking for to force the final into a tiebreaker.

In the tiebreaker Finland’s Ulf Ceder played Tony David. With David sitting on 60, Ceder finished on a 120 finish to win the World Cup Teams title.

Disappointment for the host country but both Teams played magnificent darts.
