Women’s Pairs Final

Trina Gulliver and Clare Bywaters retained the Women’s Pairs World Cup Title for England.

Defending the title they won in France in 2003 they had a fantastic final against the USA pairing of Stacey Bromberg and Marilyn Popp.

The English Ladies won the opening leg. USA won the second leg.

The final continued with the lead of pair winning the leg to the score was 3 – 3. A tiebreaking leg was required with England away first. England was down to the double first. They needed a few darts but Gulliver hit double two with her first dart to hold on to their title.

The USA Ladies pushed the English Ladies all the way.

Finals Averages:

England - Trina Gulliver 23.47 and Clare Bywaters 20.27

USA - Stacey Bromberg 25.10 and Marilyn Popp 21.38
